★★★★★
"LECA was an absolute godsend to us with our rambunctious, active German Shepherd/Husky mix, Loki. He's thriving in classes, and LECA has 'parents weekends' where they teach and help us as well — so we can keep training consistent at home. It works."

OUR STORY
LECA was built to solve a problem no one else had solved.
In 2016, Max was a senior executive on Wall Street — long hours, high pressure, and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Albert who was falling apart.

Albert had energy and drive that a 14-hour workday couldn't accommodate. Max had tried dog walkers, daycares, and private trainers. Nothing stuck. Albert was destructive at home, reactive outside, and visibly struggling.

Max was raised into dog training. His grandfather was a professional trainer, and Max had spent his college years earning money as one. He knew exactly what Albert needed — and also knew that nothing available at the time could actually provide it.

In 2017, Max left his job. In 2018, he spent the year collaborating with animal behavior scientists and researchers to develop LECA's proprietary curriculum and handler training program. The result wasn't a daycare, a kennel, or a board-and-train. It was a school — the only one built around how dogs actually learn.

The research that shaped LECA confirmed what Max had already seen firsthand:
72.8%
of dog owners say daycares and dog walkers don't provide enough mental or physical stimulation
92.1%
of dog owners say structured training and enrichment improved their dog's behavior at home

OUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
We don't train dogs to pass a test. We help them reach their potential.
"Dogs learn productive and positive behavior more easily — and remember it longer — when they are in positive psychological and environmental conditions, and when they have the opportunity to observe trusted models demonstrating behaviors."
Social Cognitive Learning Theory — the foundation of LECA's curriculum

Every element of how we train — the playgroup structure, the one-on-one sessions, the progression of skills — was built around how dogs actually learn, not around how it's easier for humans to manage them.
✔
We never punish: Corrections create anxiety and impede learning — especially when multiple handlers are involved.
✔
Positive, reinforcement based training consistently outperforms correction-based methods.
✔
We don't train your dog in isolation: We train the dog alongside you - so results follow them home.
✔
No dog "fails" here: We meet every dog where they are and build from there.
OUR VALUES
We take this seriously because
your dog is counting on you.
LECA was built on the belief that most owners aspire to give their dogs a full life but don't have the skills or the time or access to an environment where that's possible. Giving a dog an opportunity to thrive shouldn't be a guessing game.
Our methodology, based on SCT (Social Cognitive Theory), was developed in collaboration with animal behaviorists. In practice, it means your dog learns through observation, environment, and reinforcement working together — not through punishment or isolation.
✔
Science-Based: Every method we use is grounded in behavioral science and developed with animal behaviorist partners
✔
Results-Driven: We track progress, report it monthly, and will refund in full if you don't see real, measurable progress after 5 sessions. We don't hide from accountability
✔
Owners Too: A trained dog without a trained owner will regress. We teach you and your dog — that's how the change lasts

WHY IT MATTERS
Most dogs aren't broken.
They're under-engaged.
Modern life doesn't work for dogs.
They were bred to work, hunt, herd, guard, scent, and move with purpose — and then we dropped them into apartments, crates, and fenced yards and wondered why the behavior fell apart. Your dog isn't stubborn. They're not a bad dog. They need structure, engagement, and purpose — the three things modern life rarely gives them.
✔
A real curriculum your dog moves through. Your dog follows a structured progression — from Intro to Training through Impulse Control, AKC CGC prep, and specialty classes. Every level builds on the last. No "take a few classes and hope for the best."
✔
You always know where your dog stands. Every member receives a written progress report from their trainer when their dog hits a milestone or moves to a new phase. What they worked on. What changed. What's next.
✔
A real environment to grow in. Members have full access to our 13,000 sq ft facility and agility center — a training environment that builds focus, body awareness, and confidence in ways a flat floor never could. Not a converted garage.
✔
The same team, every session. Our team collectively brings over a century of professional experience. Every LECA team member is trained in our methodology — based on SCT (Social Cognitive Theory), developed alongside animal behaviorists.
WE WORK WITH OWNERS TOO
Your dog learns here. You do too. That's what makes the change last.
Most dog training is transactional — you book a session, you show up, you try to remember what you learned on the drive home. It might work for a week. Then life happens and it doesn't.

LECA is built differently. Owner coaching, parent weekends, regular progress reports, and a member portal keep you in the loop and moving with your dog. The goal isn't a dog that performs for a stranger. The goal is a dog that thrives at home with you.

Every membership includes sessions with a dedicated trainer, access to all adult group classes, use of our full agility center, progress reports, and the LECA member portal to schedule, track, and communicate with your dog's trainer.
A well-trained dog with an unprepared owner will regress. We teach you and your dog together — that's how the change actually lasts.
